20 Background Image in Python Basemap Using ArcGIS API

Here is the summary of 20 different kinds of maps you can draw using ArcGIS API and Matplotlib Basemap.

Although Basemap in Matplotlib officially provides some background maps such as “etopo” and “bluemarble”, these maps are extremely low resolution and insufficient even for a country-size map.

However, the maps presented in this post are very practical and provided as the high-resolution images, which is applicable to small area maps.

Since only two different maps are introduced in the Basemap Tutorial, I hope this summary helps a lot.
